Solar Automation in Savannah Apartment (Envigado)
This project exemplifies how intelligent optimization can bring solar energy to urban spaces, maximizing efficiency even with compact installations.
The Challenge:
To install a solar system in an apartment with limited space (a balcony) and ensure maximum utilization of the solar energy generated, while guaranteeing a seamless and secure integration with the local electric grid.
SolRobótica’s Intelligent Solution:
We designed and implemented a compact yet powerful system, centered on our technology for precision automation and switching:
Guaranteed Priority Use: The system powers the dwelling exclusively with stored solar energy until the battery level is low. At that point, the controller fluidly and automatically switches back to the electric power grid, with the user never noticing the transition.
Strategic Harvesting: A single solar panel strategically located on the balcony charges the batteries during peak solar radiation (from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.).
The Optimization “Brain”: An advanced electronic controller constantly monitors the battery status and the home’s consumption levels.
Millisecond Transition: Starting at 3:00 p.m., when solar production begins to decline, the controller executes an ultra-fast automatic switchover (just 10 milliseconds). This process ensures the complete and secure disconnection from the grid before the solar inverter begins powering the loads. This guarantees total isolation between the solar system and the conventional grid, complying with the highest safety (such as RETIE) and optimization standards.
Autonomous Energy Control in Rural Store (Guarne)
This case study illustrates how small rural businesses can take control of their energy consumption through a reliable, simple, and adaptable solar solution, designed to maximize operating hours with clean energy.
The Challenge
To provide an efficient solar energy source for a store located in the Vereda Montañez (Guarne), allowing the owner to actively manage consumption to reduce operational costs, with the possibility of upgrading the system in the future.
SolRobotica’s Practical and Controlled Solution
We implemented a direct and robust solar system that places the power of energy decision-making in the user’s hands:
- Constant Generation: A solar panel located on the store’s roof charges the batteries throughout the day, taking advantage of the area’s long sunshine hours (from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).
- Direct Manual Control: Instead of immediate automation, we installed a high-security manual selector switch. This allows the store owner to choose when to operate using:
- Conventional Grid Power
- Stored Solar Energy
- Simple Monitoring: The owner directly checks the battery charge level and decides the optimal time to activate solar power, achieving proactive management of their energy autonomy.
The Differentiator: Adaptability and Scalability
This system is built upon an intelligent foundation. Although the switching is manual today, the design is adaptive and future-ready:
Prepared for Optimization! The manual selector can be replaced at any time by our electronic monitoring and automation controller without needing a complete hardware overhaul. The client can upgrade to full automation whenever desired.
